Perkhabaran mengenai kemenangan Rom ke atas Parsi

Berita kemenangan tersebut telah dinyatakan dalam surah Rum ayat 1-6 yang maksudnya :

“Alif Lam Mim, telah dikalahkan bangsa Romawi, di negeri yang terdekat dan mereka sesudah dikalahkan akan menang, dalam beberapa tahun lagi. Bagi Allahlah urusan sebelum dan sesudah (mereka menang) dan di hari (kemenangan bangsa Romawi) itu bergembiralah orang-orang yang beriman. Dengan kemenangan yang diberi oleh Allah, ia memberi kemenangan kepada sesiapa yang dikehendakiNya, dan Dialah jua yang Maha Kuasa lagi Maha Mengasihani. Demikianlah dijanjikan Allah, Allah tidak pernah mengubah janjiNya, akan tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mengetahui (hakikat yang sebenarnya)”.

Dalam satu peperangan, tentera Rom telah dikalahkan oleh tentera Parsi. Peristiwa ini telah menyebabkan kaum Musyrikin Mekah bergembira kerana menganggap kemenangan tersebut adalah kemenangan mereka juga. Sebaliknya kaum Muslimin berdukacita kerana merasakan bahawa keimanan telah dikalahkan. Ini kerana orang-orang Rom adalah ahli kitab manakala orang-orang Parsi adalah orang Majusi penyembah api.

Kemudian turun ayat tersebut yang menerangkan bahawa meskipun orang-orang Rom telah tewas tetapi mereka akan menang dalam beberapa tahun lagi. Maka kaum Muslimin kembali gembira apabila mendengar perkhabaran ini dan kira-kira sembilan tahun kemudian, Rom telah berjaya mengalahkan Parsi. Maka terbuktilah kebenaran perkhabaran yang diceritakan oleh Al-Qur’an.

٣ فِي أَدْنَى الْأَرْضِ وَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُونَ

٤ فِي بِضْعِ سِنِينَ ۗ لِلَّهِ الْأَمْرُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَمِنْ بَعْدُ ۚ وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

Alif, Lam, Meem. The Romans have been defeated. In the nearer land; and they, after their defeat, will overcome. Within a few years. To Allah belonged the matter before and (to Him it belongs) thereafter. And on that day the believers will rejoice. Surah Rum 30:1-4

The Surah starts with a precise prediction that although the Romans have been defeated, but within a few years, they will again become victorious. The Surah here is referring to the Byzantine-Sassanid War of 602–628. When Emperor Maurice was killed by the usurper Phocas, Khosrau II waged war to revenge his death. Although the Persians were victorious during the first stages of the war, capturing much of the Egypt, Levant and even Anatolia. However, the coming to power of Heraclius ultimately drove to the Persians downfall.

There were no fast and speedy ways of communication those days but as this was not a small war but a war that lasted for many years thus by people traveling in trade caravans all the matter spread. These were the days when Prophet Muhammad and his early followers were under severe persecution, and few of them took refuge in the nearby country of Abyssinia which was a Christian country and an ally of Romans. So Meccans take this victory as a way to mock and ridicule Muslims that just as the People of Book who believe in God were defeated by Persians same, you were also come to your end by our hands and also that now soon they will get their brats back who were in refuge in Abassinya.

So this Surah actually gives six facts, miracles and predictions which fulfilled in a time span of 10-12 years. First is that Romans will be back and defeat their opponent which fulfilled starting from 623 AD with the initial victories of Romans and ends with the final defeat of Persians in the battle of Nineveh in 627AD. Second is “فِي أَدْنَى الْأَرْضِ” that is “in the nearer land” which actually proved right as these events happened in the regions much nearer to the region of Arabia. This word also includes another Miracle which you can see in “Miracle of Surah Rum: The Lowest Part of Earth” where you will come to know that in Arabic the literal meaning of أَدْنَى is low/ lowest and this battle where Romans were defeated happened in the regions of Dead Sea which we now come to know that it is the lowest region in the whole world (415 M below sea level).

The other thing in verse is that Muslims will be happy that day: it is fulfilled by the rejoicing of Muslims on seeing the Quran’s claim and prediction coming true and their opponent’s claims turning wrong. Fourth: the same time Muslims won their first battle of Badr in 623AD at the start of Romans victories and then in 628AD Muslims conquered Mecca after Romans decisively defeated Persians in the battle of Nineveh in 627AD.

Fifth if we consider the entire Universe, even then these verses should prove right in the same way. The only thing that comes in mind immediately is whether this planet Earth fulfills the verdict of verse 2 of this Surah. For this it should pass the test of both the meanings that the word “أَدْنَى” has within it. Now as for the first meaning of أَدْنَى “Nearest,” for us humans, this planet Earth is and always be the nearest place because it is our birthplace. Now for the second meaning “Lowest” we need to understand again that on macro scale on this Universe everything is relative and because we humans beings have originated on planet Earth and from here wherever we see or go in this Universe mathematically our starting and zero point will be this Earth which numerically is the lowest as compared to the destination where we would reach. Sixth there are some issues among Muslims regarding Seven Ahroof of Quran or “Multiple Qiraat” of Quran. According to which there are variances of Quran due to differences in accents of Arabic language and because of this some scholars claimed of varied readings in these verses of Surah Rum. They tell us that some read غَلَبَتِ instead of the usual غُلِبَتِ, and سَيُغْلَبُونَ instead of سَيَغْلِبُونَ. Now Arabic is a strange language, and only because of these slight changes in dialect marks these words have opposite meanings. As غُلِبَتِ is (have been defeated) while غَلَبَتِ would be (Overcame/victorious i.e opposite of defeat) similarly سَيَغْلِبُونَ is (will overcome) while سَيُغْلَبُونَ would be (Will be overcome i.e will be defeated)

The new meaning of verses is now like this:

“The Romans have conquered and are victorious in the nearest land, and they will be defeated in a small number of years.

Even if this is the meaning, the miracle of Quran is that the verses do not loose meaning and foretelling of future as in this case even by change of vowels both meanings have proved right by history as now in this case the first part is actually mentioning the victory of Romans and defeat of Persians in 627AD and then history proves that soon after their victory over Persians within few years, Romans got defeated by Muslims.

Laut Mati (Dead Sea) merupakan laut yang paling rendah di dunia. Kadar garamnya sangat tinggi.

Nah, salah satu tempat yang disebutkan Allah dalam Alquran adalah tempat atau negeri yang paling rendah di dunia. Tahukah Anda, apakah tempat atau negeri yang paling rendah di dunia ini?

Perhatikan surah Ar-Rum [30] ayat 2-3.“Telah dikalahkan bangsa Romawi, di negeri yang terdekat (Adna al-Ardhi), dan mereka sesudah dikalahkan itu akan menang.” Memang dalam ayat itu disebutkan kata ‘negeri terdekat’, maksudnya terdekat dengan Makkah. Dalam bahasa Arab, ungkapanAdna al-Ardhi, diartikan sebagai tempat yang dekat.

Dan sebagaimana disebutkan dalam berbagai buku sejarah, termasuk Syauqi Abu Khalil dalam Atlas Al-Qur’an, yang dimaksud dengan Adna al-Ardhi dari ayat tersebut adalah negeri terdekat. Negeri terdekat itu adalah terdekat dengan Makkah, yakni Syria, Palestina dan Yordania.

Syauqi menyebutkan, negeri terdekat itu adalah dataran rendah Palestina, yang terletak di dekat Laut Mati (Bahirah Luth) yang memiliki tingkat kerendahan 392 meter di bawah permukaan laut. Ada yang menyebutkan kerendahannya mencapai 420 meter.

Dalam kamus, Lisan al-Arab disebutkan, kata al-Adna berarti lebih dekat. Sedangan kata al-adna as-Safil berarti lawan dari tinggi, yakni rendah. Dengan demikian, sepetti dikutip Syauqi, Adna al-Ardli adalah wilayah yang dekat dan berdataran rendah.

Adna al-Ardhi berkata maknanya tidak hanya negeri terdekat, tetapi juga mengandung makna harfiah lainnya. Kata Adna dalam bahasa Arab diambil dari kata Dana, yang berarti rendah dan Ardhun yang berarti bumi. Karena itu, ungkapan Adna al-Ardhi berarti tempat paling rendah di bumi.

Ungkapan diatas dalam beberapa hal merujuk pada tempat ketika Romawi dikalahkan oleh bangsa Persia. Peristiwa itu terjadi di titik yang paling rendah di muka bumi.

Wilayah yang dimaksudkan ini adalah cekungan Laut Mati, yang terletak di titik pertemuan wilayah yang dimiliki oleh Syria, Palestina, dan Jordania. Laut Mati, terletak sdekitar 392 meter di bawah permukaan laut, dan wilayah ini merupakan daerah paling rendah di bumi.

Pengungkapan lokasi atau daerah paling rendah di muka bumi ini, terbilang sungguh menarik dan mengagumkan. Sebab, ketika itu belum ditemukan sebuah alat yang bisa dijadikan patokan untuk mengukur tinggi rendahnya sebuah permukaan. Namun, 14 abad silam, Allah SWT telah menjelaskan hal itu melalui Alquran.

Bahkan, seorang ahli geologi Amerika, Profesor Palmer, sempat meragukan kesahihan Alquran dalam mengungkapkan daerah yang paling rendah di muka bumi.

Ia menyatakan, ada beberapa daerah lain yang lebih rendah daripada yang disebutkan dalam Alquran. Dia memberi contoh nama daerah itu di Eropa dan Amerika Serikat (AS). Namun, setelah mengamati dan meneliti secara seksama, akhirnya dia memastikan dan menyimpulkan, bahwa daerah yang terendah di muka bumi ini adalah Laut Mati. Ilmu pengetahuan moderen, ilmu astronomi, baik yang berdasarkan pengamatan maupun berupa teori, dengan jelas menunjukkan bahwa pada suatu saat seluruh alam semesta masih berupa ‘gumpalan asap’ (yaitu komposisi gas yang sangat rapat dan tak tembus pandang, The First Three Minutes, a Modern View of the Origin of the Universe, Weinberg, hal. 94-105.). Hal ini merupakan sebuah prinsip yang tak diragukan lagi menurut standar astronomi moderen. Para ilmuwan sekarang dapat melihat pembentukan bintang-bintang baru dari peninggalan ‘gumpalan asap’ semacam itu (lihat gambar 10 dan 11)

Bintang-bintang yang berkilauan yang kita lihat di malam hari, sebagaimana seluruh alam semesta, dulunya berupa materi ‘asap’ semacam itu. Allah telah berfirman di dalam Al Qur’an:

ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ

Kemudian Dia menuju kepada penciptaan langit dan langit itu masih merupakan asap,… (Al Fushshiilat, 41: 11)

Karena bumi dan langit di atasnya (matahari, bulan, bintang, planet, galaksi dan lain-lain) terbentuk dari ‘gumpalan asap’ yang sama, maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa matahari dan bumi dahulu merupakan satu kesatuan. Kemudian mereka berpisah dan terbentuk dari ‘asap’ yang homogen ini. Allah telah berfirman:

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا

Dan apakah orang-orang yang kafir tidak mengetahui bahwasanya langit dan bumi itu keduanya dahulu adalah suatu yang padu, kemudian Kami pisahkan antara keduanya. (Al Anbiya, 21:30)

Dr. Alfred Kroner adalah salah satu ahli ilmu bumi terkemuka. Ia adalah Profesor geologi dan Kepala Departemen Geologi pada Institute of Geosciences, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Jerman. Ia berkata: “Jika menilik tempat asal Muhammad… Saya pikir sangat tidak mungkin jika ia bisa mengetahui sesuatu semisal asal mula alam semesta dari materi yang satu, karena para ilmuwan saja baru mengetahui hal ini dalam beberapa tahun yang lalu melalui berbagai cara yang rumit dan dengan teknologi mutakhir. Inilah kenyataannya.” Ia juga berkata: “Seseorang yang tidak mengetahui apapun tentang fisika inti 14 abad yang lalu, menurut saya, tidak akan pernah bisa mengetahui, melalui pemikirannya sendiri, bahwa dulunya bumi dan langit berasal dari hal yang satu.”

Big bang nucleosynthesis tells us that after just one-second old universe was at a temperature of 10 million Kelvin and the whole universe was nothing but a cloud of Smoke and Plasma. Huge gaseous matter or clouds were present before the formation of the galaxies. To describe initial celestial matter, the word smoke is more appropriate than gas. Even now new stars are forming inside dark, cold molecular clouds from Material called Interstellar Medium, which is mostly hydrogen neutral and ionized, helium, dust particles surrounded by frozen water & other stuff like carbon, nitrogen, etc. All that in the heavens all stars and galaxies all have been formed from this same smoke.

دُخَانٌ / Dukhan: is the word used in Arabic for smoke, vapor, and gaseous matter. It is the sixth word of verse 41:11 and is an indefinite masculine noun and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The noun’s root is (د خ ن). This root occurs twice in the Quran as the noun dukhān (دُخَان).

(د خ ن): Dakhan, دخن, دخنا, یدخن: To smoke, raise smoke or dust, become altered, be ill-natured, fumigate, grope clumsily, handle (a thing) clumsily, spoil, fail to handle properly. Dukhân دُخَان : Smoke; Gas; Vaporous matter with suspended particles; Fume resembling smoke; Something fleeting or be clouding; Colored smoke; Suppressed state; Dust; Famine in which people feel a sort smoke hanging before their eyes or because of no rain for a long time the atmosphere becomes dusty; Drought.

Although the concept that things are made of small particles is quite old. The first person who gave the idea of the smallest particle was Democritus in 460 BC. He says cut anything until get very small that you cannot cut more. That he called “atomos” In Greek “a” means “Not” and “tomos” means “Cut” i.e indivisible that you cannot cut more. But the concept that things are made of particles so small that they are invisible from us is not very old. In 1897 J.J.Thomson discovered electron then in 1911 Ernest Rutherford presented the idea of nucleus & Basic Model Of atomelectron and after that Neils Bohr gave the model of the atom with a nucleus inside and electron in different orbits. And in 1970 we found that proton and neutron are also not basic fundamental particles but made up of quarks. But whatever latest theories we take like Quantum field theory or The String theory one thing is common that everything we see is composed of things that we cannot see that is they are very very small.

Atom is so small that in only one human cell which you cannot see without a microscope there are almost 100 trillion atoms. If you put 500,000 atoms in a row shoulder to shoulder than they only be as wide as the thickness of a human hair. To understand it more if you increase the size of the nucleus to that of a coin, the edge of the atom would be at a distance of 2-3 kilometer.

So we can clearly see that 200 years ago the human knowledge was that atom is the smallest particle and it is not divisible. Now look almost 1400 years ago Quran not only mentioned about Atoms but also things and particles that are smaller than it.

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَا تَأْتِينَا السَّاعَةُ ۖ قُلْ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّي لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ ۖ لَا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا أَصْغَرُ مِنْ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرُ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُبِينٍ

But those who disbelieve say, “The Hour will not come to us.” Say, “Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [Allah is] the Knower of the unseen.” Not absent from Him is an atom’s weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register. Surah Saba 34:3

وَمَا تَكُونُ فِي شَأْنٍ وَمَا تَتْلُو مِنْهُ مِنْ قُرْآنٍ وَلَا تَعْمَلُونَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ إِلَّا كُنَّا عَلَيْكُمْ شُهُودًا إِذْ تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَا يَعْزُبُ عَنْ رَبِّكَ مِنْ مِثْقَالِ ذَرَّةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَلَا أَصْغَرَ مِنْ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرَ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُبِينٍ

And you are not in any matter or recite any of the Qur’an and you do not do any deed except that We are witness over you when you are involved in it. And not absent from your Lord is any [part] of an atom’s weight within the earth or within the heaven or [anything] smaller than that or greater but that it is in a clear register. Surah Yunus 10:61

٧ فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ

٨ وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ

So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it,

And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it. Surah Zilzal 99:7-8

إِنَّ اللَّهَ فَالِقُ الْحَبِّ وَالنَّوَىٰ ۖ يُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَمُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتِ مِنَ الْحَيِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ

Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date seeds. He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living. That is Allah; so how are you deluded? Surah Anam 6:95

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ يُزَكُّونَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ ۚ بَلِ اللَّهُ يُزَكِّي مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلًا

Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who claim sanctity for themselves? Nay-but Allah Doth sanctify whom He pleaseth. But never will they fail to receive justice in the least little thing. Surah Nisa 4:49

وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ نَقِيرًا

But whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, and is a believer—those will enter Paradise, and will not be wronged a whit. Surah Nisa 4:124

There are many miracles in words used here in these verses. As we know that in 21st century modern science also pointing us to new theories about the fundamental building blocks of this universe as I clearly explained in my article “Matter is an Illusion” where it is mentioned that matter (particles) is nothing but made up of vortices of energy that are constantly spinning and vibrating, each one radiating its own unique energy signature. Or smallest particles are but small tiny strings as in String theory.

Now look at these verses, and you can see that there are few words used for smallest particles other than “ذَرَّةٍ” which are “الْحَبِّ”, “النَّوَىٰ” , “فَتِيلًا” , And ‘نَقِيرًا”. The meanings of which are such that it contains all the meanings for the coming generations. That is for the previous human generations these words were giving a sense as per their time, and for us again, these words have the capacity that they give new meaning as per our modern understanding of science. This is what should be a characteristic of a divine revelation that it should be universal, valid for all ages. Arabic is a wonderful and appropriate language for a divine revelation. Below are given the meanings as was understood before and the more appropriate meanings were ignored because people were not able to understand and connect those meanings with the verse. Now just look that the actual meanings of these words which I mark as (New) are miraculous as how they are expressing the modern scientific facts and the miraculous wisdom and knowledge contained in the Holy Quran. String Loop as in string theoryNow, فَتِيلًا can be taken as A twisted rope as in string theory, النَّوَىٰ as the nucleus of an atom which also gives another Miracle as in 6:95 it is mentioned that “النَّوَىٰ” can be cleaved and split which exactly happened recently when we discovered the nuclear energy. Lastly, نَقِيرًا are vibrations of a rope OR vortices of energy as within string theory or as I mentioned in detail in my article “Quantum Field Theory.”

Another Miracle is that in the above verses whenever God mentioned the smallest particle “ذَرَّةٍ” ..the word “مِثْقَالَ” is also mentioned before that which means “Weight.” Which is a miracle that now in modern science we measure small particle and elements by their “Atomic Weights” and not by their Size or anything else.

Modern science tells us that human creation in mother’s womb is a very delicate process, and as the Fetus is a fragile thing, it needs much protection. Modern science also tells that this creation happens in the mother’s womb inside protected layers and in stages. Now look what the Quran tells almost 1400 years ago in Surah Zumar Verse 6:

He created you (all) from a single person: then created, of like nature, his mate; and he sent down for you eight head of cattle in pairs: He makes you, in the wombs of your mothers, in stages, one after another, in three veils of darkness. Such is Allah, your Lord, and Cherisher: to Him belongs (all) dominion. There is no god but He: then how are ye turned away (from your true Centre)? Surah Zumar 39:6

The phrase “فِي ظُلُمَاتٍ ثَلَاثٍ” translated into English as “three veils of darkness” points to three dark regions involved during the development of the embryo. Now, these could be either 1-Darkness of the abdomen, 2- Womb/ or Uterus, 3- Amniotic sac/ Placenta/ or Amnio-chorionic membrane. Inside these layers, the Fetus receives all sort of things required for its formation, including nutrition, chemicals, and oxygen, but light cannot reach it just as mentioned in verse 6.

The 24th word of verse 39:6 is an indefinite feminine plural noun and is in the genitive case مجرور. The noun’s root is (ظ ل م). This root occurs 315 times in the Quran, in 12 derived forms.

(ظ ل م): wrong/unjust/misuse/The putting of a thing in a place not its own; i.e., putting it in a wrong place or misplacing it. Wrong, unjust, Injustice, transgressed/reach a place beyond one’s limit/when used with the night it means “night become dark”/”Zulmat” “Muzlimon” darkness, ignorance, belief in the plurality of gods, troubles, afflictions. To do wrong or evil, treat unjustly, ill-treat, oppress, harm, suppress, tyrannize, misuse, act wrongfully, deprive anyone of a right, misplace, injure, be oppressive, be guilty of Injustice, act wickedly, be wanting in or fail. Lebah merupakan salah satu di antara tanda-tanda kekuasaan Allah yang sangat memesona yang menunjukkan keagungan-Nya.

Allah berfirman,

“Dan, Tuhanmu mewahyukan kepada lebah, ‘Buatlah sarang-sarang di gunung-gunung, di pohon-pohon kayu, dan di tempat-tempat yang dibuat oleh manusia. Kemudian makanlah dari segala macam buah-buahan, lalu tempuhlah jalan Tuhan-mu yang telah dimudahkan bagimu.’ Dari perut lebah itulah dikeluarkan minuman (madu) yang bermacam-macam warnanya; di dalamnya terdapat obat yang menyembuhkan bagi manusia.” (QS An-Nahl: 68-69)

Di dalam Alquran terdapat satu surat bernama An-Nahl, yang berarti lebah. Lebah merupakan serangga yang sangat istimewa.

Lebah mampu memproduksi makanan yang bergizi dan obat untuk berbagai macam penyakit. Kata auha (mewahyukan) pada ayat di atas berarti bahwa Allah telah menciptakan lebah dilengkapi insting atau karakter alamiah yang membuatnya bertingkah laku seperti yang kita lihat.

Para ilmuwan telah menemukan sekitar 12.000 jenis lebah. Sekitar 600 jenis di antaranya hidup secara berkelompok, sementara sisanya hidup secara individual.

Lebah merupakan jenis serangga yang memiliki sistem sosial yang detail dan solid, yang takkan mampu ditiru oleh komunitas sosial manusia yang paling maju sekalipun. Individu-individu lebah hidup secara berkelompok di dalam sarang mereka, seperti komunitas manusia. Setiap kelompok mempunyai tugas tersendiri, seperti kelompok pekerja, kelompok tentara, kelompok pejantan, dan kelompok petelur.

Komunitas lebah terbagi menjadi tiga kelompok, yaitu ratu, pejantan, dan pekerja. Ratu bertugas untuk bertelur. Kelompok pejantan hidup sejahtera dan hanya betugas untuk mengawini lebah ratu guna menghasilkan generasi lebah baru.

Kelompok pekerja adalah lebah betina tetapi mereka mandul. Kelompok pekerja ini bertugas membuat sarang sebagai tempat menyimpan telur, merawat bayi-bayi lebah, dan menyimpan madu.

Selain itu, kelompok lebah pekerja juga bertugas mengumpulkan sari-sari bunga dan mengubahnya menjadi madu. Mereka pun mampu mengubah madu menjadi cairan lilin dengan menggunakan kelenjar khusus.

Ketika jumlah lilin madu telah mencukupi, mereka pun mulai membangun sarang dalam bentuk heksagonal (segienam) yang saling berdampingan. Berbeda dengan cara manusia, lebah menyusun sarang madunya dari atas ke bawah.

Penelitian telah membuktikan bahwa bentuk heksagonal lebih kuat dan lebih efesien karena bentuk ini tidak menyisakan ruang-ruang kosong sebagaimana bentuk lingkaran.

Lebah pekerja menempuh jarak sekitar 7 kilometer guna mendapatkan bunga-bunga yang cocok. Walaupun harus menempuh jarak sejauh itu, mereka tidak pernah tersesat untuk kembali ke sarang mereka seraya membawa serbuk-serbuk sari.

Serbuk sari adalah cairan yang dihasilkan oleh bunga dan mengandung zat gula. Ketika lebah hinggap pada kelopak bunga dia akan mengisap serbuk sari menggunakan lidah dan memasukkannya ke dalam kantong madu. Proses itu dilakukan berulang-ulang sampai kantong itu penuh.

Selama perjalanan pulang, serbuk sari ini akan berubah menjadi madu karena diproses oleh kelenjar khusus di dalam tubuh lebah. Ketika lebah pekerja sampai di sarangnya, ia akan menuangkan madu yang dibawanya ke dalam sel-sel kosong dalam sarang tersebut. Dalam satu musim, satu sarang lebah dapat menghasilkan sekitar 18 kilogram madu.

Kecepatan terbang lebah bisa mencapai lebih dari 65 kilometer per jam. Kecepatan ini hampir setara dengan kecepatan laju mobil.

Saat membawa beban serbuk sari, kecepatan lebah akan berkurang menjadi sekitar 30 kilometer per jam. Namun, jangan lupa bahwa lebah mampu membawa beban serbuk sari sebanyak dua pertiga dari berat badannya.

Untuk menghasilkan satu kilogram madu dibutuhkan penerbangan kira-kira sejauh 400.000 kilometer, atau setara dengan 10 kali putaran mengelilingi bumi di garis khatulistiwa. Dan selama penerbangan itu, terjadi perubahan kimiawi pada serbuk sari.

Pada saat musim bunga, lebah pekerja akan memberikan bawaannya kepada lebah yang lain dalam rangka efisiensi waktu. Lalu, ia segera kembali ke tempat bunga dan memanen sari-sari bunga.

Before telling you this miracle present in Holy Quran, let me tell you some interesting facts about the Honey Bee. Only eight surviving species of honey bee are recognized, with a total of 43 subspecies. Honey bees represent only a small fraction of almost 20,000 known species of bees. Honey bees have three castes: drones, workers, and queens. Drones are male, while workers and queens are female. Body Size of a honey bee is 1cm to 3cm and its body divided into Head, Thorax, and Abdomen.

Honey Bee live in colonies. They have three categories inside a colony: one queen bee – a female, up to a few thousand drone bees or males and tens of thousands of female worker bees. Male Bee or Drones are stingless and can’t make honey. Drones are larger in size than the female worker bees but less than Queen.

Queen is the largest in size. Queen’s only task is to lay eggs i.e reproduction. No other female is able to mate and reproduce. Once mated, queens may lay up to 2,000 eggs per day. Queen bees are created when worker bees feed a single female larvae an exclusive diet of a food called Royal Jelly. Queens are produced in oversized cells and develop in only 16 days. Queen Bee mating occurs in mid-air, mid-flight, and 10–40 m above ground. Virgin queens go on mating flights away from their home colony to a drone congregation area, and mate with multiple drones before returning. The drones die in the act of mating. Queen honey bees do not mate with drones from their home colony. Eggs are laid singly in a cell in a wax honeycomb, produced and shaped by the worker bees. Using her spermatheca, the queen can choose to fertilize the egg she is laying. Larvae are initially fed with royal jelly produced by worker bees, later switching to honey and pollen. The exception is a larva fed solely on royal jelly, which will develop into a queen bee.

Drones primarily exist for the purpose of reproduction. They are expelled from the hive during the winter months when the hive’s primary focus is warmth and food conservation. A drone is characterized by eyes that are twice the size of those of worker bees and queens, and a body size greater than that of worker bees. They use large eyes to locate queens during mating flights. They do not defend the hive or kill intruders, and do not have a stinger and gather neither nectar nor pollen. The males do not contribute to the defense or cleaning of the hive, gathering food, or making of the honeycomb and honey. The only function of the male bees in the hive is to mate with the Queen bee.

Mating of Queen and Drone BeeShould a drone succeed in mating, the first thing that happens is all of the drone’s blood in his body rushes to his endophallus (a penis like reproduction organ) which causes him to lose control over his entire body. His body falls away, leaving a portion of his endophallus attached to the queen. The process of ejaculation is explosive so much that it rapture part of the abdomen of drone. The process is sometimes audible to the human ear like a popping sound. The ejaculation is so powerful that it ruptures the endophallus, disconnecting the drone from the queen. The bulb of the endophallus is broken off inside of the queen during mating so drones mate only once, fell down on the ground and die shortly after.

Remaining males and the males who survive the mating flights both thrown out of the hive by the female workers and they then die soon because of starvation as they are dependent on female workers for their food.

Worker bees are produced from an egg that the queen has selectively fertilized from stored sperm. Workers typically develop in 21 days. Workers shows a wider range of behaviors than either queens or drones. Their duties change with age in the following order 1- Cleaning out their own cell after eating through their capped brood cell, 2- Feed brood, 3- Receive nectar, 4- Clean hive, 5- Guard duty, 6- Foraging. Under certain conditions e.g if the colony becomes queenless, a worker may develop ovaries.

Worker bees cooperate to find food and use a pattern of “dancing” known as the bee dance or waggle dance. It is a movement in circles Or like figure-eight movement. By performing this dance, successful foragers can share information about the direction and distance to patches of flowers, water sources and new site locations for nesting. The bee who locate the source return to the hive and inform the others by performing circular or figure-eight like motions like a dance that contains information about the discovery, location, and even distance. The round dance is performed when the resource is about 10 metres away from the hive, transitional dances are performed when the resource is at a distance of 20 to 30 metres away from the hive and when it is located at distances greater than 40 metres from the hive, the waggle dance is performed. Bees determine the location of a place by Sun and its angle. Honey bees also perform tremble dances, which recruit receiver bees to collect nectar from returning foragers

Multiple Stomach
In a Bee inside the stomach, there are portions, partitions or crops i.e. it has multiple stomachs. While collecting Nectar the bee store, it in a different portion called the “Honey Stomach” and return to its hive. At the back of the stomach, there is a valve that prevents the passing of nectar into the rear portion of the digestive system except for a small amount that is needed for her life.

The hive is always in a hexagonal shape with every angle almost 120 degrees which now we come to know with the help of computers that it could be the best shape to make as it uses the least wax to make the maximum size of hives. Lastly, for only 500 grams of pure honey, almost 10,000 plus female bees visit millions of flowers, collect nectar and work day and night to produce this little quantity. The color of honey changes according to climate, season, and Nectar source.

Now look that almost 1400 years ago this is what the Quran told us in Surah Nahl 16:68-69

٦٨ وَأَوْحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى النَّحْلِ أَنِ اتَّخِذِي مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا وَمِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ

And your Lord inspired to the bee, “Take for yourself among the mountains, houses, and among the trees and [in] that which they construct.

٦٩ ثُمَّ كُلِي مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ فَاسْلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا ۚ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِلنَّاسِ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you].” There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought.

Miracle In The Use Of Word “أَوْحَىٰ”
All these highly advanced and technical things cannot be done even by human beings without the guidance and proper training. That is why God used the word “أَوْحَىٰ” that He Himself inspired the bee all this knowledge of performing these tasks.

All Worker Bees Are Female

Further, from the facts presented above, we come to know that the Male bees do not make honey. This was only known recently. However, 1400 years ago, the Quran refers to bees that generate the honey as females. Previously people thought that the worker bees are male bees and reports to a king. The words used (Take) اتَّخِذِي, (Eat) كُلِي and (Follow) فَاسْلُكِي all are for a female subject. Otherwise, God would have used كُلُ, اسْلُكْ, and تَّخِذُ .

Miracle in The Use Of Word “بُطُونِهَا”
Further, there is also another miracle which shows the divine origin of Quran as in verse 69 Quran stresses that in the individual female bee there are abdomens (i.e more than one stomach), which in Arabic is “بُطُونِهَا /butuniha,” the “هَا / ha” points to a single female bee. If the plural of the word “abdomen” was meant to refer to the female bees (i.e multiple bees), then the plural feminine pronoun “ ھنا /hunna” would be connected to the verb “بُطُونِهَا.”. That clearly shows that the noun (Stomach) is plural and the pronoun used is for 3rd person famine singular. This thing that a female worker Bee has multiple stomach portions not known until very recently. Only this one fact is enough for any person to believe in the divine origin of the Quran.

The sixth word of verse 16:68 is divided into two morphological segments. A verb and subject pronoun. The form VIII imperative verb فعل أمر is second-person feminine singular. The verb’s root is (أ خ ذ). The suffix (الياء) is an attached subject pronoun. This root occurs 273 times in the Quran, in seven derived forms:

(أ خ ذ): To take, receive, accept,; take away, punish, afflict, make a compact, seize upon, seize, take in hand and arrange. Akhdhun اخذٌ: The act of tak-ing; Punishment. Akhdhatan اخذةً (noun of unity): Punishment. Âkhidhun اخِذٌ:One who takes. Akhadhtahû bi kadha :Y ou incited him to do that and made him stick to it. Bitânatun بطانةٌ : . “Batuna” He was or became big in the belly in consequence of much eating/ “Batana” (1) He struck his belly; (2) it (a disease) entered into him or penetrated into his b e l l y, also means, it was or became hidden/ “Batn” (1) The belly or abdomen (2) The inside of anything also means a low tract or portion of land/ “Batin” Hidden, concealed; internal or inward part of a thing/ Al Batin” is one of the attributes of God meaning, He who knows the inward state of things; He also knows the secret of hidden things; He who is hidden from public view/ بطانة plural بطائن Lining or inner covering of a garment; a secret that a man conceals; a special or intimate friend or associate.
